Today in History

Sixty Five years ago today Auschwitz death camp was liberated from the clutches of the Nazi regime.

In honor of that day here is a word spoken by Elie Wiesel. He is the author of Night, a gripping tale of his life in Auschwitz. Here is what he has to say:

I have 6 million reasons to to give up on the world, to give up on any other person, to give up on God, on faith, on literature, on words. And in spite of that I must have faith in the other person. I must have faith in words, in language. I must have faith in the possibility of every human being to remain human in spite of everything.
